McPHERSON, Elmer Craig

Elmer Craig McPherson, age 75, of Blacksburg died, Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

He was born in Montgomery County, Virginia on February 28, 1931. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Flem Wade and Roma Dixie Smith McPherson; stepfather, Willman (Bill) Saunders; sisters, Yevonne Sarver, Pamela Wolf, Elsie Cain; brothers, Joe Caldwell, Harold Caldwell; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. And Mrs. Edward L. Trimble.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years Hazel McPherson, of Blacksburg; mother, Bessie M. Saunders, of New Castle; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn M. and Steve Smith,of Blacksburg; son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. and Anna McPherson, of Narrows; sisters, Becky Finch, of Troutville, Linda Saunders, of Roanoke, Violet Neighbors, Vickie Snider, and Bernice Law, all of New Castle; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Carole Saunders, of Va Beach; brother-in-law, Ray L. Trimble, Florida; grandchildren, Mary B. Belcher and husband Todd, of Christiansburg; Kristy M. Huffman and husband Chris, of Narrows; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, J. B. Fugate, Bruce Fugate, Chuck Eaton, David Stegar, Willis Alls, Ed Alls, Walter Shepherd, and Emory Hoke.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, June 29, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Christiansburg with the Rev. Richard Gilbert, the Rev. Rador Vaden, and the Rev. Emory Hoke officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1:45 p.m., Thursday with the funeral procession leaving at 1:45 p.m. from the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg .
