McGuire, Patrick Henry

Patrick Henry “Pat” McGuire, 87, of 100 Sam Robinson Drive in Pembroke departed this life Sunday morning July 2, 2006 at Highland Ridge Health Care in Dublin in the loving care of his family. Born in Giles County on March 15, 1919 he was a son of the late Van Buren and Laura Victoria Martin McGuire.

Pat was retired from Industrial Insulation in North Carolina, was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead and was a veteran of the US Navy, WW II.

He was preceded in death by his wives Myrthie Radford McGuire and Phyllis Cardwell McGuire; brothers and sisters Armstrong (Mac), Joseph (Joe), John, William Riley (Jack) and Robert Miller (Bobby) McGuire, Nannie M. Taylor, Mable (Dine) M. Williams, Mary M. Young, and Hattie M. Wingo.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children Ann and Jim St. Clair of Trinity, NC, Allen (Dean) and Geneva McGuire of Pleasant Garden, NC, Ellen and Roy Martin of Pembroke, Robert and Susan McGuire of Danbury, NC, Carole and Don Poteet of Pembroke; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 AM in Riverview Baptist Church with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM and at other times at the home of Don and Carole Poteet at 208 Hilton St. in Pembroke.
