McGuire, Alma Moriah

Alma Moriah McGuire, 96, of Kingsport went to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 6, 2006 in Indian Path Hospital. “With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation” Psalm 91:16.

Alma was born in Pulaski on November 16, 1909 and she has been a resident of Kingsport since 1932. She was a charter member of Kingsport Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include one son, Richard McGuire, and his wife Louise of Pulaski; two daughters Dorothy Morrison of Kingsport and Maxine Corley of Griffin, Ga.; four grandchildren Sharon Duffey of Stone Mountain, Ga., Debbie Almond of Griffin, Ga., Connie McPherson and her husband Wayne of Bristol, Tenn. and Mark Morrison of Johnson City, Tenn.; four great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; two nephews and eight nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband Foy McGuire and two grandsons, Dale “Tydus” Alley and Ricky Morrison.

Services for Alma will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home, Kingsport where family and friends may visit from 1 p.m. until time of services. Pastor Hal Peggau will officiate. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 3025 Fort Henry Drive, Kingsport, Tenn. East Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
