McFarland, Derrick Lamont

Derrick Lamont McFarland, 32, of Christiansburg, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2006, giving his life to protect others. Derrick was a loving and dedicated son, husband, father, friends and colleague. He was an employee of Montgomery Regional Hospital where he worked as a security guard.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Cindy Dowell McFarland; children, Jonathan Andrew Servellon and Kaneisha Marie McFarland; parents, Harold and Rosalind McFarland; brother, Eric McFarland; grandmother, Sophia McFarland; mother-in-law, Janet Haley; sister-in-law, Angela Haley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alan and Carolyn Haley; best friend, Jason Goldman; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2006 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Vest officiating.
