McCroskey, Vivian Caldwell

Vivian Caldwell McCroskey, 80, of Spruce Run Road at Newport, departed this life Wednesday evening, August 23, 2006 after a long illness.

Born on September 17, 1925 she was a daughter of the late George Cleveland and Mary Mason Fischer Caldwell. She had worked at Imperial Reading Corp. in Christiansburg and attended Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Blacksburg.

She was preceded in death by six brothers, Raymond, Brady, Arnold, Cecil, Payne and Thomas Caldwell; three sisters, Edith Kirk, Lillian Caldwell, Reba Webb; and an infant daughter. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Sarah McCroskey of Newport and Norma McCroskey of Vinton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with the Rev. Chris Hutchinson of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church and the Rev. Linda Mitchell of Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Newport Cemetery at Newport.
