McCroskey, Jr., Thomas Edward
Thomas Edward McCroskey, Jr. 69 of Narrows, VA departed this life October 7, 2023 in the care of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born in Pearisburg, VA on August 6, 1954 he was a son of the late Thomas Edward McCroskey and Mary Beckner McCroskey.
Thomas spent an impressive 43 years working in production at Celanese. His commitment to his work was evident, as he consistently displayed a strong work ethic and an exceptional ability to manage complex tasks. In his earlier years, Tom had a passion for riding motorcycles. This hobby brought him great joy and adventure, and he often shared thrilling stories of his rides. His love of motorcycles was a testament to his adventurous spirit and his thirst for life.
However, Tom’s greatest joy was his family. His love for them was evident in everything he did. He was a devoted family man, always putting his loved ones before himself. He was a source of strength and comfort, always there to lend an ear, share a laugh, or offer wise advice.
Left to cherish the memory of Thomas are his wife, Marcie McCroskey; sons, Ben McCroskey of Narrows, VA, Chris McCroskey (Takeisha), Josh McCroskey of Peterstown, WV, and Chad McCroskey of Peterstown, WV; daughters, Jordan Hatfield and Austin of Tennessee, Emma McCroskey of Narrows, VA, and Shawna McCroskey of Peterstown, WV; grandchildren, Travis Hatfield, Mason Taylor, Madison Taylor, Ember McCroskey, and Kayleigh McCroskey; and special sisters-in-law, Anna Atkinson Pettrey, and Wendy Elizabeth Hamblin.
Thomas McCroskey’s life was defined by dedication, adventure, and love. His memory will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed.
