Patricia Ann Ballard McCoy, 75, of 3506 McCoy Road, Blacksburg, formerly of Union, W. Va., passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Montgomery Regional Hospital, Blacksburg, Va.
Daughter of the late John Reginald Ballard and Miriam Dunn Ballard. Pat was preceded in death by husband of 55 years, Wendell L. McCoy and sister, Geraldine Ballard Kulman.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Larry W. and Trudy Arline Griffin McCoy, Riner, Va.; daughter and son-in-law, Jerilyn McCoy and John Michael Trew, Philadelphia, Pa.; special niece, Sandra Kulman Rice, Stanford, Ky.; grandchildren, Jeffrey Todd and Bethann Carpini Jennelle, Ft. Lewis, Wash., Michael Shane Jennelle, Blacksburg, Va., William Andrew McCoy, Roanoke, Va., J. Austin McCoy, Radford, Va., Amy Elizabeth McCoy, Radford, Va. and Timothy Wendell McCoy, Riner, Va.; great-grandchildren, Katelyn Mackenzie Jennelle, Ft. Lewis, Wash., Brandon Michael (Jennelle) Smith, Blacksburg, Va., Trace Michael Jennelle, Ft. Lewis, Wash., Patrick James Jennelle, Ft. Lewis, Wash. and Lola Isabella McCoy Campbell, Radford, Va.
Pat was a wonderful homemaker, avid reader, bird enthusiast, gardner and enjoyed many handicrafts. She worked alongside her husband, Wendell, as office manager for M&M Tire Distributors, Prices Fork, Va., for many years. She was a legendary mother, grandmother, great -grandmother and the mother-in-law we all wish we could have. Pat will be missed by the many who loved her.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. James O. Flaugher officiating. Interment will follow at the Walker-Snyder Cemetery, McCoy Road, Long shop, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in the name of Patricia Ann Ballard McCoy to: The Hahn Horticultural Gardens at Virginia Tech, 301 Saunders Hall, Blacksburg, Va., 24061.
Friends may call anytime after 12 noon, Monday, February 13, 2006 and the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg, Va.
