Matuszczyk, Nancy Trenar
Nancy Trenar Matuszczyk, beloved mom of Stephanie Shannon Matuszczyk, crossed over into Heaven to join her mother and father, Ralph and Virginia Hetherington Trenar after a long illness on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at the age of 79.
Nancy is also preceded in death by her grandparents, Earl and Lucy Stafford Hetherington of Trigg, Virginia; her first love and Stephanie’s father, Frank Matuszczyk; a sister, Barbara Farewell; brothers, William (Billy) Trenar and Ralph (Tommy) Trenar; brothers-in-law, Perry (Junior) Farewell, William (Bill) Melvin, and an aunt, Betty Williams; loving friend and soulmate, Howard (Gomer) Pyles Jr. all of Pearisburg; and special church friends, Patty and Tom Francis, and Dreama Vaught.
Nancy was born on January 9, 1944 in Trigg, Virginia. She graduated from Giles High School as a member of the Class of 1962. She retired from the Celanese Corporation of Narrows, Virginia with 38 years of service. Nancy attended and loved being part of Angels Rest Baptist Fellowship Church in Pearisburg, VA.
She is survived by sisters, Linda Melvin, Drema and Charlie Simmons, Carol Robertson and Taz Tickle; brothers, Richard and Norma Trenar; and sister-in-law, Mary Trenar all of Pearisburg; a special sister, Betty Thomas of Pembroke, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. Survivors also included are special friend and caregiver, Barbara Carter; a dear friends and housekeeper, Barbara Gayle Wimmer; and special church friends, Syl Vaught and Ellen and Dave Tate.
Stephanie would like to thank all the friends and families for the love shown to her mom during her illness. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or a charity of choice.
The family will have a time of visitation where friends will be received on Sunday September 24, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Angels Rest Baptist Fellowship. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Angels Rest Baptist Fellowship with Pastor Craig Whittaker officiating.
