Martin, Hester Walters

Hester Walters Martin, 95, of Christiansburg, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2006. She was a retired employee from Leggett Department Store and a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Moses Martin; brothers, Clyde Walters and Winton Walters; sisters, Mamie W. Creed and Francis W. Moores; daughters, Ann Yvonne Martin and Nancy Martin Reynolds.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Michael (Butch) Wayne and Margaret Martin; grandchildren, Bruce Reynolds and wife, Irene; Bosha M. Nelson and husband, Michael; Rosezonda M. Hudgins, Eric C. Martin and wife, Karen; Timmy Scott and wife, Patricia; great-grandchildren, Bruce Reynolds, Dana Reynolds, Thomas M. Nelson, Tyler V. Nelson, Jonathan M. Hudgins, Joshua W. Hudgins, Serena E. Martin, Noah C. Martin; numerous nephews and nieces and a special lifetime friend, Ella Burke Simpkins.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2006, at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Allan Burke officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
