Magee, Nancy Marlene Lee

Nancy Marlene Lee Magee, 71, of Blacksburg, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2006 in Blacksburg, Va., following complications from multiple sclerosis.

Marlene, formerly of Newport News, Va., was born in High Point, N.C., to Oscar and Eunice Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sandra Lee Wright, and brother Michael Gibson.

Marlene is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert (Bob) Thomas Magee; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Bill Tyler; daughter, Karen McCollum; son, Kevin Magee; brother, Ronald Lee; sister-in-law, Kathleen Mattox; brother-in-law, Wayne Wright; brother-in-law and wife, Fred and Loretta Magee; and four grandchildren, Brittany and Chelsey Tyler, Ryan McCollum, and Kelly Magee. Marlene is also survived by many loving family members, life-long friends, sisters of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority, and her church families of Blacksburg Baptist Church and Parkview Baptist Church of Newport News, Va.

Funeral services will be conducted at Blacksburg Baptist Church on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at 4 p.m., with Pastors Tommy McDearis and Don McKinney officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Gardens of the New River Valley, Blacksburg.

The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the graveside service, and at Karen’s home at other times.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Ridge Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 27326, Richmond, Va. 23261-7326, or to the Building Fund at Blacksburg Baptist Church, 550 N. Main St., Blacksburg, Va. 24060.

Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Saturday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
