Tillie Ann Price Lucas, 82, of Newport, passed away on March 18, 2014 at her home in the loving care of her family. Born Natalie Ann Price on January 24, 1932, she was the youngest and last surviving child of William Charlton and Mary Ann (Molly) Price.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1993, Lewis Brown Lucas; an infant son Swight Edward Lucas; her five brothers Trucy Albert Price (infant), Fred Price, William Price, Daniel Price, and Ira (Ted) Price; and her sister Carrie Price Breen.

Tillie or Till Ann, as she was affectionately called, grew up and spent her entire life in Newport. She was a simple woman, who embraced a simple, but fulfilling life. She was a homemaker and worked alongside Lewis on the family farm. She was a hard worker and always provided well for her family. She took pleasure in being outdoors, tending her chickens, raising a garden, canning food and raising flowers, especially potted geraniums. Tilllie was a member of the Clover Hollow Christian Church, having been baptized into the Christian faith at the age of 14, alongside her brother, Ted. She attended Sherry Memorial Christian Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons and daughters-in-law, Calvin B. and Virginia (Ginnie) Lucas, Dale F. and Glenda Lucas, Shannon L. and Elizabeth (Beth) Lucas; her daughter and son-in-law Sheilia L. and Jeffery (Jeff) Collins, all of Newport; her loving grandchildren Christopher (Chris) M. and wife Amanda Lucas, April N Lucas, Mallory K. Lucas, Laken N. Lucas all of Newport and Rachel N. Lucas, of Roanoke; loving step-grandsons, Robert L. Perfater and wife Jessica, of Riner and Kevin E. Perfater of Radford; cherished great-grandchildren Molly E. Lucas of Newport; and step-great grandsons, Alexander (Alex) W. Newomer of Newport, and Jerimiah L Perfater of Riner. Tillie is also survived by a dear niece, Janet B. Dean of Blacksburg; sisters-in-law Dorothy H. Price of Pembroke, Eva H. Price of Newport, and Shirley P. Epperley of Christiansburg; numerous nieces and nephews, a host of caring neighbors and friends and her three feline friends, Buddy, Fiddlesticks, and Lucky.

The family is truly grateful for the loving care provided to Tillie these last few months by her caregivers and family friends, Terry Reiss, Frances Thornhill, and Donna Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Price, Jerry Price, Steve Price, Elmer Price, Christopher Lucas, Robert Perfater, Kevin Perfater, Andy DePue, and Stephen Wood. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Sndow St., Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Interment will follow in the Lucas Family Cemetery near her home in Newport The family will receive friends the funeral home Friday evening from 6 until 9 pm.
