LAWRENCE, Charles Leroy

Charles Leroy Lawrence, 55, of Christiansburg, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 20, 2006.

He graduated from North Carolina State University in 1973; he was employed by Ivesco, LLC, in Harrisonburg; served as Chaplain at the Montgomery County Jail; a member of Jubilee Christian Center, Radford, Va. and a member of the Montgomery County Republican Party Unit Committee.

He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Lawrence. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Lawrence; his mother, Betty Lee Lawrence of Asheboro, N.C.; his mother-in-law, Peggy Ross Blake; his son, Steven R. Lawrence of Austin, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Teresa Lawrence of Marston, N.C., Gary and Pamela Lawrence of Southport, N.C.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Dianne Blake of Trinity, N.C., George W. and Bettie Blake of Omaha, Neb.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Hash officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Jubilee Christian Church, P.O. Box 510, Pulaski, Va. 24301.
