King, Margaret Brice

Margaret Brice King, 89, of Blacksburg, died, Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at Roanoke United Methodist Home.

She was born in Elm City, N.C. on October 26, 1916 to the late Claude Foy and Esther Barnes Brice. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Oakley King, Sr.; sister, Vivian Medlin; and brother, Hiram S. Brice.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Kay K. and John S. Moody of Blacksburg, Anne K. and Ernie Venturino of Blacksburg, Carol Lee and the late Lanier Guest of Blacksburg; son and daughter-in-law, Edward O. (Eddie), Jr. and Carol Pristou King of Blacksburg; sisters, Carolyn Alexander of Elizabeth City, N.C., Esther McCoy of Roanoke, Rachel Robbins of Roanoke; brothers, Claude F. Brice of Oxford, Md., William A. Brice of Portsmouth, Va., John K. Brice of Greenville, N.C., Gordon W. Brice of Portsmouth, Va.; grandchildren, John Moody, Jr., George Moody (Ged), Meg Biggs, LeeAnne Sallade, Amy Venturino, Edward O. King III (Trace), Laura King Lynch, Alex Guest, Lee Guest; 15 great-grandchildren; and many other special family members.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Blacksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Reggie Tuck officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Friday, and the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
