KESLING, Patricia Bryant
Patricia Bryant (P.K.) Kesling, 70, of Radford, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 02, 2006.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. and Earlmah Irene Bryant; sister, Nancy Lee; and a nephew, Keith Midkiff.
Pat graduated from Radford High School in 1953. She received her Nursing Degree from Lynchburg General Hospital. She began her career working at the former St. Albans Hospital in 1961, became Director of Nursing in 1975 until she retired in 1996. She was a friend, mentor and advisor to many employees. While raising her three boys, she was loved by all of the “Fairlawn Boys”.
Pat was an extremely active retiree where she was a long time member of the Business Professional Women’s Organization and held many offices which include President and Secretary. She was also a member of the First Christian Church, Radford and loved to do her work for the Lord and served as an elder and trustee.
Left to share her beautiful memories are three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard (Dickie), Jr. and Donna Kesling of Pulaski, Robert and Rosemary Kesling of Radford, and Ken and Michelle Kesling of Pulaski; their half-sister, Richelle Kesling Loughlin of Weehawken, N.J.; four grandsons, Nat, Cody, Keith and Joshua Kesling; a special great-grandson, Riley Huff; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Harold Akers of Christiansburg; a nephew and his wife, George (Eddie) and Vickie Midkiff of Radford; a niece and her husband, Deborah M. and Richard Myers of Christiansburg; numerous cousins from Woolwine and Roanoke; special friend and pastor, Gina Rhea; and all the “Fairlawn Boys”.
A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Radford with the Rev. Gina Rhea and the Rev. Christine Reisman officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Burial Park in Radford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to either the Pat Kesling Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 627, Radford, Va 24141 or the First Christian Church, 400 Tyler Avenue, Radford, Va 24141.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Mullins Funeral Home and at all other times at Pat’s house.
