JORDAN, Virginia Perin Broomell

Virginia Perin Broomell Jordan, of Blacksburg, died May 25.

Born in York, Pa. in 1909, she attended York Collegiate Institute and, later, Elmira College in New York. In 1945, she married Kenneth Jordan; the couple lived in Tenafly, N.J. before moving to Lexington, Va. in the 1980s.

They moved to Warm Hearth Village in Blacksburg in 1993. The Jordans were active in the Blacksburg Presbyterian Church, and Virginia was twice a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR); she was also a painter, and writer of articles for the Roanoke Times and charitable newsletters.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 8, at Blacksburg Presbyterian Church, with graveside rites 2 p.m. the following day in Prospect Hill Cemetery, York, Pa. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
