Johnston, Jerry Edward

Jerry Edward Johnston, 66, of Radford, died Saturday, August 12, 2006, at the New River Valley Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Alma Johnston; two brothers, Jack Johnston and Julian Johnston; one sister, Janette Johnston Battle; and his first wife, Jackie Jo Price Johnston.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Johnston; son, Mike Johnston and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Codi Bowman and Hunter Johnston; stepdaughter Margaret Miller; brother Juel “Nub” Johnston; several special nieces and nephews and numerous loving friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at 2 p.m. in the Alleghany Church of Christ with Mr. Porter Riner and the Rev. Ira Smith, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Monday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
