Bernice Stilwell Spraker (Bunny) Johnson, 88, of Pulaski, Va., died on Wednesday afternoon, September 8, 2010, at her home. She was born in Pulaski, Va., on December 12, 1921.

She lived in Dublin, Va., most of her life except for 19 years in Lawrence, Kan. She was employed by Hercules, Inc. in Radford, Va., until her retirement in 1979. Her beloved husband of 30 years, the late William Lawrence Johnson. Her parents were the late Sarah Jane and Manual Vinson Stilwell. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Cassie Black, Anne Jones, and Elizabeth Ussery; and brothers, Clarence, Troy, Tom, and Johnny Stilwell.

She is survived by her sister, Flora Stanley, of Greensboro, N.C. Survivors also include sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas W. and Susan B. Spraker, Freddy V. and Margie M. Spraker, Woodson S. and fiancée, Carolyn W. Mcleod; special family friends, Betty A. Spraker and Betty G. Spraker; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Bunny was someone who brought a light so great to the world that even after she is gone the light remains.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday evening, September 10, 2010, at Stevens Funeral Home in Pulaski, Va. Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at the Dublin United Methodist Church, 424 East Main Street, Dublin, Va. 24084 with the Reverend Bill Rowland officiating. Graveside Services will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, Va. Following the graveside service, a reception/luncheon for family and friends will be held at the Dublin United Methodist Church in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Carilion Hospice Service, New River Valley, 707 Randolph Street, Radford, Va. 24141.
