Howery, Thomas Eugene

Thomas Eugene Howery, 51, of Blacksburg, died Monday, January 16, 2006 at his home. He was born in Montgomery County on April 3, 1954. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Oscar Howery and a brother, Lewis Howery.

He is survived by his mother, Dorce O. Sweeney, Blacksburg; daughter and son-in-law, Betty Jo and Jay Akers, Fairlawn; a granddaughter, Taylor Akers; four sisters, Lois Hedrick, McCoy, Irene Cook, Ellett, Marie Sweeney, Tazewell, Nancy Saoosatari, Montana.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rador Vaden officiating. Interment will follow in the North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellett. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
