Hoback, Mary Jones

Mary Elizabeth Jones Hoback, 89, of Pulaski went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Mar. 9, 2006 at the Pulaski Community Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on April 20, 1916 in Wytheville and was the daughter of the late Herman and Betty Fortner Jones.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Theodore R. Hoback, a grandson, Elton Eugene “Gene” Anderson and by five brothers and two sisters. Surviving are: her son, Theodore B. Hoback, Pulaski; daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Elton Anderson, Pulaski, Shirley and Wayne Henley, Pulaski, Kathy Donathan, Christiansburg; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Robert E. “Red” Jones, Pulaski; sister, Alice Nelson, Wytheville.

She will always be remembered and cherished as a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. Although you will be sadly missed, our memories will last forever in our hearts.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Earl Hanks officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Sunday evening from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
