HENRY, Margaret Fenton
Margaret Fenton Henry, 86, of Christiansburg, passed away Monday, February 13, 2006 at Montgomery Regional Hospital of heart complications.
Born March 11, 1919 in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of the late William and Janie Linkous Fenton. She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Henry; brother and sister-in-law, William M. and Thelma Fenton; and brother, Harry Fenton.
She worked at Southern Dairies in Christiansburg for many years, she then retired to become a housewife and mother. She was an active member of the Alleghany Church of Christ until her health failed. She was an avid gardener, cook and caregiver all her life and was the first to arrive when help or support was needed.
She will be sadly missed by her loving son, Larry Henry and her grandson, J.L. Henry. Her constant companion was her faithful dog, whom she loved very much. Survivors also include sister-in-law, Margaret Fenton; foster sister and her husband, Dorothy and Arnold Hodge; also her cousin, Nellie Hodge and her husband, Robert. She leaves nieces and nephews, Wayne Fenton, Sharon Fenton, Richard Hodge, Jewell Kay Barnett, Charles and Tommy Henry and Mary Dalton and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews. Friends and neighbors, Mrs. Guy Lester and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hornbarger have been there for Mrs. Henry over the years and helped watch over her.
The Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 15 at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 16 at the Alleghany Church of Christ with Mr. Porter Riner officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alleghany Church of Christ, 2095 N. Franklin St., Christiansburg, Va. 24073.
