HAILEY, Franklin Dee
Franklin Dee Hailey, 71, of Narrows, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek.
He was born in Charleston, W.Va. on November 12, 1934 and was the son of the late George Elbert and Mamie Thornton Hailey. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Holdren Hailey; two brothers, Guy Hailey and Arthur Hailey; and two sisters, Edith Jones and Nina Brown.
He was a retired employee of Celanese Acetate in Narrows with 30 years, and was a former employee for DuPont Chemical in Institute, W.Va. He was a member of Glen Lyn Baptist Church, and also attended Kathleen Memorial United Methodist Church. Frank was a champion pool player, and thoroughly enjoyed the sport. He and his late wife, Betty, were very close and enjoyed spending time together.
He is survived by two sisters, Glenna Howery of Charleston and Dorothy Trapaso of Chesapeake, Va.; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Pete and Shelby Akers and their family of Princeton, Jerry and Connie Sawyers of Fla., Crystal Bradley of Cashmere, W.Va.; and his caregivers and next-door neighbors, Rick and Cindy Ratcliffe and family of Narrows.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows with the Rev. Leon O’Quinn officiating.
