Guynn, Mary Buckland

Mary Ellen Buckland Guynn, 98, of Narrows, VA., joined her heavenly home on Saturday, May 18, 2024, surrounded by her family. Mary was born in Peterstown, WV., on October 11, 1925, to the late Neal and Barcie Buckland. In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank “Cotton” Guynn, her sisters Marie Tuggle and Lucille Windley, and her brothers Corky, Theodore, and Clinton Buckland.

Mary was a dedicated lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Narrows. She retired from Poly Scientific (Moog). She took pride in her three sons, and was most proud of her title as “Mawmaw”, as she lived for the days of spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching game shows and her beloved Virginia Tech Hokies and Atlanta Braves.

She is survived by her three sons, Barry Guynn (Beverly), Terry Guynn, and Todd Guynn (Melissa). Her grandchildren, Shane Guynn (Heather), Erin Duncan (Shaun), Jocy Vuiller (Matt), Matt Guynn, Zach Guynn (Alyssa), Andi Lowe (Corey), Maggie Boothe (Connor). Her great-grandchildren, Leah Duncan, Caius and Miles Vullier, Grayson and Brooks Guynn, Stetson Lowe and Joseph Robertson, as well as sister-in-law, Mary Jane Guynn, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Good Samaritan Hospice and special neighbors, Jackie and Janet Thornton.

Visitation services will be held at First Baptist Church in Narrows, VA, on Monday, May 20, 2024, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM, with Funeral Services to start at 1:00PM. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Rich Creek, VA.
