Griffith, Greta Fitzgerald

Greta Louise Fitzgerald Griffith, 74, of Clendennin Road at Narrows, died Friday morning July 14, 2006 at Pulaski Community Hospital in Pulaski after a long illness. Born in Narrows on April 2, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Patrick Parnell and Sadie Blackburn Fitzgerald.

A beloved mother and neighbor she was preceded in death by her husband, Edd Junior Griffith, a son, Eddie Joe “Buddy” Griffith, a sister, Mary Dickerson, two brothers, Jack Blackburn and Thermon Fitzgerald.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband “Bill” William Sam Griffith; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Kelle Griffith of Dublin; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Jean and Joel Dillion of Lashmeet, W. Va., Barbara Gaye and Pete Whitaker of Pulaski, “Scout” Carolyn Jane and Don Whitaker of Pulaski; a sister, Iva Jean Wilson of Christiansburg; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Fairview Cemetery at Narrows. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
