Gravley, Vivian Preston Crigger
Vivian Preston Crigger Gravley, 82, of Max Meadows, Va. passed away Monday, October 17, 2005 in the Pulaski Community Hospital.
She was born February 19, 1923 in Wythe County, daughter of the late Samuel and Pearl Akers Crigger. She was a member of the Anchor of Hope Presbyterian Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Jefferson Gravley, Sr.; a son, Clinton J. Gravley, Jr.; one sister, Mittie Gravley; four brothers, Clayton, Cecil, Gordon, and William Crigger; one half sister, Mary Reed; three half brothers, Robert, John and Tom Gibson.
She is survived by four daughters, Ruby Mooney of Max Meadows, Betty Crowder of Pulaski, Helen Smith, Melissa Poole, both of Max Meadows; one sister, Maggie Peak of Max Meadows; one brother, Samuel Crigger of Max Meadows. Nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 20, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Cindy Ross and the Rev. Kindle Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in Sanders Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Home or at the residence at any time. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
