garlick-jr-joseph-douglasJoseph Douglas Garlick, Jr., 70, of Pulaski, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016.He served in both the U. S. Navy and the U. S. Army, retiring with 23 years in the Reserves and was also a boiler operator at the Radford Army Ammunitions Plant for 15 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Douglas Garlick, Sr. and Reba Garlick Farmer; and sisters, Jenny Hosey and JoAnne Wheeler.

Survivors include daughters, Joy Danette Bilello of Wytheville, Jonie Denise Carter of Nashville, Tenn., and Jessica Dawn Garlick of Kingsport, Tenn.; son, Jody Dwayne Garlick of Dublin; sisters, Jackie Hall of Draper, Julia Phillips of Dublin, Judy Huff of Blacksburg and Joyce Derham of Savannah, Ga.; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Legion Post #58, PO Box 444, Dublin, VA 24084.
