Gardner, Jessie Iris Blankenship

Jessie Iris Blankenship Gardner, 91, of Dublin, died Tuesday morning, April 18, 2006, in the Highland Ridge Rehab Center in Dublin.

She was born in Carroll Co. on May 7, 1914, and was the daughter of the late Fred Blankenship and Rebecca Hicks Blankenship.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lowman A. Gardner.

She was a retired employee of Jefferson Mills, Pulaski with 25 years of service. Surviving are: daughters, Iris Brown of Ruby, S.C., Mary Murphy of Dublin; step-son, Alfred M. Gardener of Roanoke; sister, Hettie Gravley of Hillsville; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. Visiting will be this evening at Stevens Funeral Home in Pulaski where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home in Pulaski.
