French, Mildred Blankenship

Mildred Blankenship French, 74 of Christiansburg, Virginia passed away May 10, 2024. Mildred was born on July 11, 1949 in Giles County, Virginia, daughter of the late Vernon and Elsie Blankenship.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, James French, sister, Alma Whitaker; niece, Crystal Candler; and nephew, Joshua Blankenship.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy French; granddaughter, Madison French; brother, Danny Blankenship and his wife Becky of Pearisburg, Virginia; sister, Linda Stephens of Pearisburg, Virginia; nephews, Reggie and Andrew; nieces, Chonita, Hannah, and Melissa; cousin, Barbara Crawford; stepsons, David and Calvin French; step-daughters, Sally Shumate, and Sue Shrewsberry; and many other cousins.

Mildred was a sales associate for Ames for many years. She enjoyed the adventures that reading would bring; the therapy of gardening; the caretaking and results of her good cooked meals; listening to a good country song; and the joys of a vacation to Pigeon Forge could bring.

The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 12:00 until 1:00 PM at Kendall Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday May 14, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Poff officiating.
