Fox, Sherry Williams

Dr. Sherry Lynn Williams Fox, 66 of Chesterfield County, Virginia was received into her Heavenly Father’s arms on Friday, September 29, 2023 in the loving care of Bon Secours Hospice House in Midlothian, Virginia. Sherry was preceded in death by her father, William E Williams; and grandmother, Pauline J. McCall.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Howard Fox; two sons, Scott and Christian (Gina); two grandchildren, Ezra and Infinity Grace; her mother, Mary Lois Williams; 3 siblings, Pam Mundy (Bane), Billy (Bev), Eddie (Angela); and abundance of nieces and nephews; special friends, John Bender, Eileen Alberico, Wendy Inge, Jeff Hetzer, Cathy Willis-Melson; and a host of life-time friends, acquaintances, and colleagues.

Sherry’s faith in Jesus Christ was unwavering as she demonstrated her entire life from taking in the homeless to being an advocate for the less fortunate. She was deeply passionate about politics, current events, family, genealogy, and being with her grandbabies. Sherry’s hobbies included snow skiing, riding a pontoon around Lake Gaston, fishing, exploring new places, and attending family events. “Dancing with Daddy” was a quote she referenced frequently at any family gathering where she and her Dad could dance.

Sherry had an attitude of striving for excellence in every aspect of her life. Nursing was her lifelong dream which she achieved in so many avenues and maintained until she was called home. Sherry’s career started as a candy striper in High School. Following nursing school at Roanoke Memorial School of Nursing, she went to a job at MCV in Richmond, VA. Sherry achieved her Masters Degree as well as a Doctorate Degree, then working at UVA and finishing her career at Bon Secours as the Director of the Cullather Brain Tumor QOL Center in Richmond.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the Ramsey Memorial United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Ramsey Memorial United Methodist Church in Richmond, VA at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, VA on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Reggie Britts presiding.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the National Bank (611 Snidow Street Pembroke, VA 24136) in care of Mary Lois Williams for the Dr. Sherry Fox Nursing Scholarship Fund.
