Charlie Dalton Epperly, 73, of Christiansburg, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Lena H. Epperly.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lois Epperly; his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Kathy Epperly, Wytheville; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Denie Marie, Blacksburg; stepgranddaughter, Kelly Widner; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dewey and Nancy Epperly, Jerry and Bonnie Epperly; half sister, Beulah Nunley; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Epperly, Jenny Hylton; and brother-in-law, Eddie Walters.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2006 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Huffville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1060 Lovely Mount, Radford, Va. 24141 or the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Christiansburg, Va. 24068.
