Echols, Connie William

Connie William Echols, 63, of Newport, Va. died Saturday, September 25, 2010. He was born November 19, 1946 in Christiansburg, Va. to the late William Clyde and Frances Bell Huffman Echols. He is also preceded in death by a very special uncle, Estial Echols.

Connie served his country as a Sergeant in the Army during Vietnam in the Charlie Company 4th & 9th 25th division (Manchu) “Keep up the Fire”, receiving two Purple Hearts.

He is survived by his daughter, Brandi Shontia Echols; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie Dean and Cathy Echols; and a nephew, Travis Echols. Also surviving are many cousins and special friends.

The family wishes to express thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice and a special thanks to Tammy and Tony.

A private service will be held. Interment will be in Level Green Cemetery, Newport, Va.
