Duncan, Larry Paul
Larry Paul Duncan, age 73, of Christiansburg, died, Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at his home. He was born in Christiansburg, Va. on August 28, 1950, to the late Russell Paul and Sarah Teany Duncan. He was also preceded by his paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Elva Duncan, maternal grandparents, George and Elizabeth Teany, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dewey and Irene Thompson.
Larry worked for the family business, Duncan’s Texaco along with his father and mother and eventually became the owner/operator in 1991 and retired in 2017. He was also a life member of the Christiansburg Rescue Squad. Larry was a longtime member of the Christiansburg Hunt Club.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Thompson Duncan, sons and daughters-in-law, Scot and Sarah Duncan, Toby and Beth Duncan, special four legged son, Oskar Paul, grandchildren, Christopher (Nikki) Duncan, Sarah (Levi) Akers, Caleb Duncan, Scarlett Duncan, Jordan Duncan, Kayla Duncan, Brandon Duncan, great-grandchildren, James, Wyatt, sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Russell Whitworth, brothers and sister-in-law, David Duncan, Wayne and Beth Duncan, brothers-in-law, Tommy (Ruby) Thompson, John Thompson, sisters-in-law, Doris (David) Kirkner, Debra (Richard) Abbate, aunts, Reva Semones, Mary Peterman, nieces and nephews, Tara (Pat) McAllister, Elizabeth (Chris) McCann, Chris Duncan.
Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neal Turner officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Christiansburg Hunt Club, 324 Old Mill Rd. Floyd, Va. 24091 or to the Chrsitiansburg Rescue Squad at 190 Depot St. NW, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.

Dianne, you may not remember me but several yrs ago we were friends with you and Larry. My then husband Bill Crittenden, did frequent his business often. Just wanted to say how sorry I am that Larry has passed away. Prayers and thoughts are with you.

Dianne, I am so sorry for the passing of Larry, he and his parents were such a big part of my life growing up. My dad Lance “Doc” Hurt worked at Duncan’s Texaco for years. Such a wonderful family. Thoughts and prayers for you and the family.
