DOBYNS, Thurman

Thurman Dobyns, 78, of Shelton, Conn., beloved husband of Mary Ann Sessler Dobyns, died on Friday, February 17, 2006.

Born and raised in Blacksburg, Va., Mr. Dobyns was a Fairfield and Stratford resident for most of his life before moving to Shelton two years ago. He was a World War II Naval veteran, serving aboard the USS Mt. McKinley as well as an Air Force veteran during the Korean war, serving as a bomber pilot for 10 years. Mr. Dobyns had worked as a supervisor in the Lumber industry.

In addition to his wife Mary Ann , survivors include his three sons, Thomas Dobyns of Seattle, Washington, Timothy Dobyns and his wife, Amy of Dover, Delaware and Daniel Dobyns and his wife, Regina of Shelton; a brother, William Dobyns and his wife, Elaine of Christiansburg, Va.; a sister, Ruth Ogle of Blacksburg, Va.; and two grandsons, Jonathan and Erik Dobyns; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Dobyns was preceded in death by his son, Mark.
