Iva Stissel Dean, 86, of Radford, died Monday, May 15, 2006 in a Floyd Health Care Center. She was the widow of the late Guy Haswell Dean, longtime minister of the Radford Church of God of Prophecy. Mrs. Dean was also a retired employee of Montgomery Ward.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda T. and Don Crawford, Christiansburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald M. and Sandra Dean, Hixon, Tenn., Charles D. and Drema Dean, Chattanooga, Tenn.; six sisters, Melvey Jones, High Point, N.C., Ruth Davis, Galax, Grace Dunn and husband, Jack, Christiansburg, Sue Dent and husband, Don, Manassas, Wilma Jackson and husband, Dennis, Tucson, Ariz., and Anna Koehler and husband, Gerry, Bassett; Gerry, Bassett; two brothers, Jack Nichols and wife, Belinda, Hillsville, Billy Nichols and wife, Bonita, Galax; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the Radford Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Tom Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford.
