Davis, Jr., Charles Raymond

Charles Raymond Davis, Jr., 79, of Pulaski, Va., died Monday morning, July 24, 2006 at his home. He was born in Cripple Creek, Va. on July 20, 1927 and was the son of the late Charles R. Davis, Sr. and Gladys Hinkle Davis. He was also preceded in death by a son and a daughter, Paul and Paula Davis (infant twins), a brother, Samuel Douglas Davis and by a sister, Shirley Vickers.

Mr. Davis jointly owned and operated Dublin Road Exxon with his brother “Buford” for 25 years.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Jeane Osborne Davis, Pulaski, Va.; son, Charles Wayne Davis, Pulaski, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Karen Davis, Pulaski, Va.; grandson, Chris Davis, Christiansburg, Va.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buford and Burton Davis, Pulaski, Va., Larry and Karen Davis, Roanoke, Va.; sister, Doris D. Carter, Pulaski, Va.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Rufus A. Brock and Pastor Charles F. Damron officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visiting will be Wednesday at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va.
