Cook, Elizabeth Reese

Elizabeth Reese Cook of Pulaski, Va., went to be with her Lord Easter Sunday, April 16, 2006.

She was born March 11, 1928 in Pulaski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William Clarence Cook, and an infant son, Roger Lewis Cook. She was also preceded in death by her parents, George P. and Lilly R. Reese; brothers, James, John, David, Ward and Clarence Reese; and by sisters, Ada Reese, Esther R. Thornton, Faye R. Anderson and Ella R. Craig. She was a longtime member of the Draper Valley Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and James Kidd, Dublin; granddaughter, Stephanie Elaine Kidd, Dublin; grandson and wife, Matthew and Angie Kidd, Norfolk; great-grandchildren, Alexis Kidd, James Heath, Joshua Heath, all of Norfolk; longtime friends and caregivers, Angie Dalton, Kelly and April Dalton, all of Dublin.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 11 a.m. from the Draper Valley Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wilfred L. Overton officiating. Burial will follow in the Draper Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visiting will be Tuesday evening, April 18, 2006 at the Draper Valley Baptist Church where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made in Elizabeth’s memory to the Draper Valley baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Pulaski, Va.
