Rev. Paul Andrew Clark, 81, of Pulaski, a “Hero of the faith” who was faithful to his Lord for 56 years and in his service as a Pastor for most of those years, went for his crowning Glory on May 19, 2006 at Duke Medical Center. He was surrounded by his wife and children as he was escorted into heaven by a host of heavenly angels.

He was born in Bland County, Va., on August 15, 1924 the son of the late Pearly Meek Clark and Della Myers Clark. He was a World War II Army Veteran.

Rev. Clark was blessed to have Mary Aileen DeHart Clark as his wife for 58 years, they were given five daughters, Brenda Hiscott and husband Donald of Pinehurst, N.C., Dee Brubaker and husband Mike of Roanoke, Karen Burns and husband Jeff of Whitesburg, Kentucky, Paul Kellstrom and husband, Rev. J.M. of Philadelphia and Teresa Henley and husband Ron of Radford; two sons, Rev. D.M. Clark and wife Debbie of Blacksburg and Mark Clark of Pulaski; two sisters, Ola Morehead of Bland and Ila French of Dublin; one brother, Braddie Clark of Richmond; 14 grandchildren, Michelle Jordon, Chantel Mayhann, Dawn Moser, Paige Millis, Justin Brubaker, Seth Brubaker, Shannon Hogg, Jed Clark, Tiffany Anderson, Jason Clark, Jonathan Clark, Aaron Clark Collins, Jordan Clark and Deenae Henley and 17 great-grandchildren.

A “Memory Celebration” will be held Monday, May 22, 2006 at the church he faithfully Pastored, New Life Tabernacle, (Largen Hill Court, Rt. 734, Pulaski) at 7 p.m. “His Crowning” a celebration of his life will be held at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Handy, the Rev. Jack Cunningham, the Rev. Robert Hall, the Rev Denny Clark, the Rev. James Kellstrom and the Rev. Dennis Patterson officiating. Military graveside rites will be by the Pulaski V.F.W. Post #1184 in the Shiloh Cemetery, Hollybrook. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1 p.m. until service time. He kept the faith, therefore he received a crown of Glory. Arrangements by A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home.
