Calvin Curtis Chapman, Sr., 55, of Radford and formerly of Pembroke died Saturday morning December 2, 2006 in Roanoke Memorial Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Giles County on July 2, 1951, was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Viet Nam Era, was retired from the Celanese Celco Plant at Narrows, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Pembroke. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Chapman.

Calvin leaves to cherish his memory three sons, C. C. Chapman, Jr. of Radford, S. “Maceo” Dickason of Charlotte, N.C., Derick Chapman of Radford; two daughters, Donna Silcox and husband Ben of Floyd, SSG Lea Chapman, U.S. Army, Leavenworth, Kansas; one brother, Dallas L. Chapman of Pembroke and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in First Baptist Church in Pembroke with Pastor, the Rev. James Cooper and the Rev. David Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
