caldwell_helen_marieHelen Marie Caldwell, 75, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Heritage Hall Health Care, Blacksburg. She was born in Montgomery County, Va. on February 2, 1935, to the late James Muncie and Hazel Marie Bond Harless. Helen taught in the public schools in Montgomery County for over 40 years, she taught in Ironto and Christiansburg Elementary. She also taught the Bible Study Class for Montgomery County. Helen’s biggest hobby was camping and traveling, she and Kent have been all over the United States. She is survived by her husband, James Kent Caldwell, of Christiansburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Shira and Buddy Hedgepeth, of North Carolina; a son and daughter-in-law, James Kent, Jr., and Donna Caldwell, of Dublin; a sister, Eller Roop, of Prices Fork; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Shirley Harless, of Dry Branch, Va., Emory and Marcie Harless, of Radford; five grandchildren, Ethan Caldwell, Wheeler Caldwell, Remington Hedgepeth, Ariel Hedgepeth, Micah Hedgepeth; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Belview United Methodist Church with Dr. Stan Thompson, and the Rev. Jube Burk officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the Belview United Methodist Church, 3619 Onyx Drive Radford.
