Byers, Mary E. Nelson

Mary E. Nelson Byers, 103, of Blacksburg, Va., passed away December 4, 2006 at Kroontje Health Care Center.

She was born to the late John Black Packer Nelson and Mary Catherine Witman Nelson of Sunbury, Pa. She was preceded in death by her late husband, George B. Byers of Sunbury, Pa.; a daughter, Nancy Ann Byers McGinnes of Blacksburg, Va. and her late husband, Burd S. McGinnes; a sister, Ann Elizabeth Nelson of Sunbury, Pa.; and three brothers, William Edward Nelson and John Mills Nelson of Sunbury, Pa. and Joseph Earl Nelson of Rutherford, N.J.

She is survived by her great-granddaughter, Christina McGinnes Lynn and her husband, Sprigg S. Lynn of Potomac, Md.; two great-greatgrandsons, South Brooks Lynn and Jackson Charles Burd Lynn of Potomac, Md.; a great daughter-in-law, Yvonne Sarver McGinnes Picard and her husband, Jerry R. Picard of Hamilton, Va.; and two nieces, Mary Ann Nelson Overfield of Jensen Beach, Fla. and Linda Ann Nelson Reilly of Rutherford N.J.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg, Va.
