Burks, Sylvia Ann

Sylvia Ann Burks, 75, of Radford, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 30, 2006. Born February 26, 1931 and raised in Wytheville, Va., Ms. Burks made her home in Radford, Va. since the late 1950’s. She will be greeted in heaven by her parents, two sisters, one brother, one grandson, former husband and a special friend.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Jacquelyn (Aaron) Mosley, Ann (Earnest) Hayden, Michelle (Michael) Concepcion, and Angela (Jeffery) Phillips; sons, McAlister Carlton and Ethan Carlton; sisters, Ellen Johnson, Frances Blake and Bessie Burks; brothers, George Chaffin and Charles Burks; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Monday, December 4, 2006 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Radford, Va. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in Sunrise Burial Park, Fairlawn. Arrangements by Penn’s Funeral Home, Pulaski.
