BLAKE, Robert

Mr. Robert Clinton Blake, 80, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and friends after a long and courageous battle with cancer on February 1, 2006.

He was born February 16, 1925 in Radford to the late Edward Blake and Jessie Blake Frazier of Radford. He was employed with RAAP from 1957 to 1982. He was an Army veteran, serving in World War II. He was a faithful member of Zion Hill Baptist Church until his health declined.

Survivors include his wife, Frances C. Blake; sons, Robert C. Blake, Jr. of Houston, Texas, Sterling C. Crockett (Florence), Bethesda, Md., Stuart Crockett (Crystal), Wytheville, Va.; daughters, Roberta B. Greene (Stuart Moon), Christiansburg, Va., Melissa Ambers (Clifton), Winchester, Va., Tammie C. Kapoor (Munish), Christiansburg, Va.; brothers, Spencer Blake, Dayton, Ohio, Curtis Blake (Clara), Albuquerque, N.M.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, George Chaffin (Mary), Grand Rapids, Mich, Sylvia Burks, Radford, Va., Ellen Johnson (Mack), Wytheville; grandchildren, Armand, Ashley, Sterling, Tia, Stuart, Clifton, Alyssa, Manisha; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held Monday, February 6, 2006, 12 noon at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Radford, with the Rev. Nathaniel Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, Dublin, Va. The family will receive friends Sunday, 7 to 8 p.m. at the church. Friends may call at Serenity, Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. for viewing.
