Blackwell, Roy Edgar

Roy Edgar Blackwell, 84, of Floyd, passed away September 2, 2006 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salem.  He was a Veteran of World War Two.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and William Griffith of Floyd; two grandchildren, Jay and Kristi Griffith and Amber and Bradly Cockram; six great-grandchildren, Devin Griffith, Katie Griffith, Logan Griffith, Jayse Griffith, Krislyn Griffith, Nallory Cockram; two stegrandchildren, Andy and Rhonda Griffith, Tony and Sonya Griffith; four great-stepgrandchildren, Jacob Griffith, Ethan Griffith, Zach Griffith and Easton Griffith; two sisters, Catherine Roberson of Floyd and Daisy Phillips of Elliston.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at Wood Funeral Home in Floyd with the Rev. Lloyd Camp and the Rev. Joseph Falls officiating with interment in the Zion Luthern Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home in Floyd.
