BAYLESS, Katherine Farmer

Katherine Farmer Bayless, 68, of 1421 Cedar Branch Ct. died Thursday, June 29, 2006 at Duke Health Raleigh Hospital. She was born in Dublin, Va. on September 20, 1937 to the late Madeline Brillhart Farmer and Kent Farmer and was raised in Dublin, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Bayless and a brother, Bob Farmer.

Mrs. Bayless was a 20 year cancer survivor, she was a devoted wife and homemaker and was quick to make friends and enjoy a good laugh. She enjoyed many hobbies including cooking, golf, sewing and painting. She was a superb Bridge player. Her most exceptional talent was the piano. She learned to play at three and continued to play throughout her life.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 o?clock Sunday afternoon July 2, 2006 at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Randy Mann officiating.

Mrs. Bayless is survived by her children, Mark Bayless and his wife Karen of Clayton, Vicki Owens and her husband Charlie of Gastonia, Laura Holden and her husband Wayland of Raleigh, Mary Bayless and her friend Philip Denton of Wake Forest; brothers, Gary Farmer of Lebonan, Va., David Farmer of Roanoke, Va.; a sister, Dawn Farmer Martin of Dublin, Va.; Grandchildren, Ashley Natale, Courtney Owens, Marcie and Neil Holden and Madeline Pulley; great grandchildren, Nate and Parker Natale,
