Alley, Winnie Vass

Winnie (Helen) Vass Alley, 87, of Pulaski, died Monday morning, March 27, 2006 in Pulaski Community Hospital.

She was born September 2, 1918 in Carroll County, Va. She attended the Dublin Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Raymond Alley; and a daughter, Betty Jo Alley Bruce; and two brothers, Burl and William.

She is survived by four sisters, Hazel Alley of Pulaski, Mary Ruth Burton and her husband, Bill of Dublin, and Rose “Tootsie” Murphy of Mississippi, and Lottie Marshall of Mt. Airy, N.C.; three grandchildren, Wayne Bruce, Jr. and his wife, Samantha of Johnson City, Tenn., Carla Bruce Thompson and her husband, Dr. Donald Thompson of Birmingham, Ala., and Michelle Bruce Tarasidis and her husband, Dr. Charles Tarasidis of Radford; seven great-grandchildren, Erin Bruce, Evan Bruce, Ryan Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Alexandra Tarasidis, Andrew Tarasidis, and Christina Tarasidis.

Funeral services will be held Thursday March 30, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons with the Rev. Jim Alley officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.
