Aldridge, Willie Arlington
Willie Arlington Aldridge, 88, of Pilot, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2006.
He was a member of Havens Chapel United Methodist Church. He retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation. Willie loved being a farmer.
He was preceded in death by is brothers, Rex Aldridge, Velmer (Slim) Aldridge, Garland (Square) Aldridge and Lewis Aldridge; sisters, Valry Conner, Garthie Conner, Laura Hart, Ercell Willis. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eva Aldridge; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Kenneth Bare, Roanoke; two sons and daughter-in-law, Earl and Cathy Aldridge, Roanoke, Bill Aldridge, Pilot; four grandchildren, Tim Bare, Roanoke, Kimberly Wallace and spouse Terry, Roanoke, Chad Aldridge, Pilot, Landon Aldridge, Richmond; brother and sister-in-law, Bure and Virginia Aldridge, Roanoke; two sisters, Gladys Perdue, Copper Hill, Versie Hall, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2006 at Havens Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Dan Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Restvale Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. on Thursday at Gardner Funeral Home where the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m.
Flowers would be appreciated, however those wishing may make donations to Havens Chapel United Methodist Church. The family would like to say thank you to the staff of Skyline Manor Nursing Home for their wonderful care of Willie and thanks to the neighbors of the Terrys Fork Community for their help.
