Akers, Bobby Todd

Bobby Todd Akers, 25, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, November 25, 2006 at his home. He was born in Radford, Va. on November 8, 1981. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles “Ray” Keith, paternal grandparents, William Allen Akers and Mary Elizabeth Akers.

He leaves to cherish his memory his fiance, Rachel Raymond; his daughter, Lyndsey Rae Akers, both of Christiansburg; his father and stepmother, Bobby and Donna Akers of Radford; his mother and stepfather, Edna Mae Keith and Michael Devore of Christiansburg; sisters, Natasha and William Tawney of Christiansburg, Sherry and Kurt Dauel of Hiwassee, Donna Harmon and Melissa Devore both of Christiansburg, Michelle and Rob Muttart of Radford; brothers, Travis Devore, Dutch Devore, both of Christiansburg, Barry Elliott, and Michael McGuire, both of Blacksburg; maternal grandmother, Joyce Ann Keith; special friends, Michael Price, Jacob Keller and Jorge Eanes; and special aunt and uncle, Sally and John Henry Smith; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jube Burk officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Bobby Todd Akers Memorial Fund at any FNB, P.O. Box 600, Christiansburg, Va. 24073.

Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Tuesday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
