Adams, Dorothy Josephine

Dorothy Josephine Adams, 92, of Blacksburg, Va., died Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born in New York City, N.Y. on October 21, 1913 to the late John Alfred and Josephine Hoffman D’Onofrio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis X. Adams. She was a retired school teacher, an active artist and a writer.

She is survived by her three daughters, Katherine F. Schetz of Blacksburg, Jacqueline (Jacque) Jean of Osterville, Mass. and Lucille (Lucy) Heavey of Cincinnati, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted Monday, July 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Blacksburg Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Alex Evans officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg Presbyterian Church, PO Box 144, Blacksburg, Va. 24063. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
