Walker, Ernest Wilmer

Earnest Wilmer Walker, 88, of Radford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Quesenberry Walker, parents, Clarence and Thelma Walker, Brother, Frank Clinton Walker of Salem, and grandson, Adam Farmer of Radford.

He is survived by daughters, Brenda Walker of Radford, and Joyce and husband Larry Webb of Christiansburg; granddaughter, Celena and husband Will Freeman of Max Meadows; grandson, Derek Webb of Christiansburg; great grandchildren, Karlie and Lauryn Shumate of Max Meadows, Deacon Webb of Christiansburg, Brittney Farmer of Pulaski, and Alexandra Redden of Radford; niece, Dianne Santolla of Pulaski; and special friend Sylvia Marshall of Radford.

The family wishes to express special thanks to caregivers Lynn Akers of Pulaski, Sandy Craighead of Radford, and Deborah Carroll of Christiansburg.

Wilmer was a proud life-long member of Carter Street United Methodist Church. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Mullins Funeral Home by Rev. Betsy King. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Radford Rescue Squad.
