ROGERS, Marie Glennwood Hardy

Marie Glennwood Hardy Rogers, 99, of Pulaski went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 9, 2006 in the Pulaski Health Care Center.

She was born on December 13, 1906 in Pulaski and was the daughter of the late John B. and Rhoda Kersey Hardy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Price Rogers; and by her brothers, Luther H. Hardy, Everette Hardy and Eldridge Hardy; and by a sister, Edith H. Rush.

Marie was a devoted member of the First Christian Church, Pulaski. She served in numerous capacities within the church body including a 17 year tenure as church clerk. Since 1956 Marie has been a member of Pulaski Chapter #113, Order of the Eastern Star. She held several offices in the Eastern Star including that of Worthy Matron and Grand Representative to Texas. She was retired from General Chemical Company after many years of service. Marie loved to travel and had the pleasure of experiencing the world’s sights from California to Paris.

Surviving are: sisters, Frances H. Lookabill, Pulaski, and June H. Tennis, Pulaski; brother, Richard K. Hardy, Ravenswood, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Randy Winn officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski. Visiting will be Sunday afternoon at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the service hour.
