Walters, Jr., Roy William

Roy William (“WILD BILL”) Walters, Jr., 88, of Pearisburg, VA, completed his journey on Earth Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Giles Community Hospital, surrounded by the love of his Heavenly Father and his loving family.

He was born November 3, 1928 in Louisa, KY, the son of the late Roy William, Sr. and Lena Johnson Walters. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Edith Lorraine Walters and an infant son, “Little Bill”.

Left to cherish his memory are a brother, Luther Walters, Pearisburg, VA; his sons & daughters-in-law, Terry & Patricia Walters, Riner, VA and Ricky & Helen Walters, Pearisburg, VA; his daughters & sons-in-law, Linda & Mayo Higgs, Hillsville, VA, Brenda Dean, Peterstown, WV, Debbie Harvey, Eggleston, VA, Agnes Kitts, Pearisburg, VA, JoAnn Neice, Rich Creek,VA, and Edith & Billy McGuire, Radford,VA; his sisters-in-law, Lillian Perkins, Bula Walters and Marie & Ed Holt;two of his many, many foster children, John & Tammy Whittaker; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, too many to list.

A memorial service is planned for Friday, November 18, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Rev. Terry Mays and Rev. Charlie Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until service time, 6:00 P.M.

Per his request, “Wild Bill” has been cremated. The family will handle his disposition at a later date.
